Last year we already featured a gallery about the bizarre rituals of the Vegetarian Festivals on Phuket in Thailand. This year we are doing another gallery of the local Chinese community that beliefs that abstinence from meat and various stimulants, during the ninth lunar month of the Chinese calendar, will help them obtain good health and peace of mind. They celebrate the vegetarian festival by piercing their own meat and setting of fire crackers. Again a strong warning because of Most images depict self-mutulation....
